Wide Spaces – Allan Ford
There is much to commend the simplicity of this image. I feel the concept is a good one. The single tuft of grasses in the foreground is nicely back-lit which makes it a very appealing element. I would be inclined to selectively lighten the foreground to reveal more of the detail, texture and colour of the grasslands as far back as the beginning of the foothills. It might be an optical illusion, but again I feel that the horizon is slopping downwards towards the left of the image. Unfortunately, you have dust spots on your sensor and these are clearly visible in several places across the sky. These need to be removed, but do consider having your sensor checked out. You have all the elements of a great image here but alas the presentation is lacking.
