Moody Morning - Brian Hall
You have captured the mood successfully and also used the jetty as a leading line to take the viewer into the image. There is a sense of warmth about the image, probably caused by what appears to be mist rising from the trees on the other side of the lake as the temperature begins to warm after recent rain perhaps. A couple of points to consider. The horizon is not quite horizontal; this can be correct simply in post production. As presented the dark area on the left creates something of a black blob with no detail. Take another look at this area in post production; I am certain you will find that with a little selective adjustment of the levels slider you will reveal additional information in this area. It won’t need much just enough to indicate a presence rather than a dark mass. Your photography is certainly moving in the right direction.
